The Energy Network
The Energy Network is a group of citizens promoting energy efficiency and renewable energy in Massachusetts towns.
The group shares ideas and methods for cutting energy costs - both municipal and residential - and for reducing our carbon footprint. Currently, the Energy Network includes members from 17 Massachusetts communities, largely from Groton to Framingham, and Sterling to Weston.
If you are interested in getting your community involved in saving energy, you are invited to join.
Among the projects underway, member towns are currently:
- Conducting studies of their town's energy use
- Researching energy service companies (ESCO's)
- Working with town Boards of Selectmen to reduce municipal energy costs
- Starting residential action groups to lower household carbon footprint, using the Mass Climate Action Network's Low Carbon Living program.
Our goal is to make it easier for each member town to reduce overall CO2 emissions, energy dependency and cost, by collaborating and sharing knowledge about projects and methods that are most effective for each town.
